What You Bring/Job Requirements
The Neurosurgical APP is committed to promoting the health of the whole person and ensuring optimal care through assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The ideal candidate will render professional, collaborative care to adult patients under the direction of a member of the medical staff and in accordance with the healthcare practitioner's treatment plan, standards of care, and the professional code of ethics; is sensitive to the needs of patients, families, physicians, and coworkers; and will assume personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- Minimum of 1 year in neurological surgery (first assist experience preferred)
- Knowledge of neurosurgical anatomy and pathology required
- Master's Degree - Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant or Master of Science in Nursing Program
- PA-C or NP. Ability to obtain or has current CO license with prescriptive authority
- Have Prescriptive Authority or have Provisional Prescriptive Authority
- BLS/ACLS from the American Heart Association
- Provide patient care in the inpatient and outpatient setting, including perioperative areas, inpatient units and outpatient clinic
- Under the supervision of the neurosurgeon, performs first assistant surgical duties.
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
