Job Description

Purpose

Perform all payment postings and correspondence related duties and handle updates to one or more platforms.  Applicant must have the ability to perform in a group and individual working environment and provide superior customer service.

Essential Job Functions

  • Look up payments and correspondence to identify account numbers for processing
  • Post payments to internal processing system, keeping current within 2 business days
  • Post correspondence to processing system, keeping current within 3 business days
  • Post electronic transactions for all electronic payors without ERAs (SCF, VA, DOL, HCP, Cubs, etc) within 3 business days
  • Assist in working the Payment Inbox in posting the identified payments
  • Handle payment reversals
  • Process all functions for Credit Card Payments
  • Access various payor sites for EOBs
  • Answer phone calls and direct callers to appropriate individual
  • Interact effectively with internal and external customers
  • Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to change situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs
  • Provide back-up as needed for reception duties
  • Work current denials/requests
  • Other duties as identified and assigned

Qualifications and Education

  • Payment processing/Correspondence processing experience preferred
  • 4 year degree preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, basic computer skills & 10 key Calculator
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess strong organizational skills
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to change

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus
