Academic Preparation:
*High school or equivalent
Required: Specialized training in clinical medical skills from an accredited Medical Assistant program
Specialty Certifications: None
Professional Requirements/Emergency Response: Maintains current training in following:
*BLS (AHA and ASHI Healthcare Provider) required for all
Experience: Completion of clinical rotation as part of Medical Assistant program and/or 1 year of experience in the outpatient setting

 

 

Summary:
*Provides primary support to the provider by preparing the patient for the visit. Maintains efficient patient flow and assists the provider with treatments and procedures.
*Provides support for clerical functions to include scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations
*Performs activities to maintain a clean, stocked, safe, and well-organized patient care environment.
